Description
Hand-carved from genuine olive wood that was grown in the Holy Land.
The Greek Orthodox Cross was used as a symbol, not only of religious but also of artistic (ornamental) character. Its equal arms symbolise the four main elements of nature; air, fire, water and earth. People from all walks of life wear the Jerusalem Cross for protection, and as a symbol of their faith. Historians note that certain royal members including King Edward VII, King George V and Kaiser Friedrich III had the Jerusalem Cross tattooed on their bodies upon visiting Jerusalem in the 19th century.
